In Matthew 16:15, Jesus asks His disciples, “Who do you say I am?”
How might you answer that question? What would you say? How you answer it has eternal significance. However, knowing who Jesus is, is not enough. The Devil, himself, has perfect Christology, Jesus must not only be known for who He is, He must also be worshipped.
Throughout John’s gospel, Jesus makes 8 explicit, self-revelatory, self-disclosing statements about Himself:
June 19: I am the bread of life (John 6:35, 48)
June 26: I am the light of the world (John 8:12, 9:5 )
July 3: Before Abraham was, I am (John 8: 58)
July 10: I am the door (John 10:9)
July 17: I am the good shepherd (John 10:11)
July 24: I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25)
July 31: I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6)
Aug. 7: I am the true vine (John 15:1)
Our hope and prayer is that through this series, Harvest would not merely grow in knowing what it means that Jesus is the vine, the door, or the bread of life, but that we would grow in our worship of Jesus because of it.
We as your pastors are very excited and anticipating great things that the Lord may do through the upcoming sermon series. Please pray for His Spirit to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine.
Thank you all for your love for Jesus, His Church, and for the lost.
